Selecting Our Conference Venue

Finding the perfect venue for our conference is almost as challenging as it is rewarding. We strive to satisfy everyone with the location and venue choices, but it’s a lot easier said than done. Part of the challenge is that our community is located everywhere and over time this will become a global event, making this decision even more of a battle.

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa

We announced recently that we will be taking our Data in Motion conference to San Antonio, TX this October. We’ll be at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa which is located about 20 minutes West of the San Antonio Riverwalk. Throughout my career, I’ve been to some pretty amazing hotels, but this is has to be one of my top five favorites. Before I started planning events, whenever I would think of a “resort & spa” type of property I imagined it would be on a beach somewhere; definitely a tropical location. Never would I think that there would be a resort in the middle of Texas. I was very wrong. This resort gives you a feeling of calm and comfort, which is essential in setting the stage for a few days of networking. We want to create an environment where people feel at ease and at home so they are more comfortbale breaking barriers and meeting others like them who can change the way they do business.

The Hyatt Regency Hill Country was built in 1993 upon 300 acres of the Rogers-Wisemen family ranch. The resort is located 16 miles northwest of San Antonio International Airport and 1.5 miles from SeaWorld San Antonio. It’s located a half mile away from the highway in a remote location surrounded by foliage and wild-life. You can enjoy a feeling of exclusivity at this Texas ranch house, but not lose the luxuries of a high-end resort and spa. The resort has too many features to list but here are a few: 27-hole golf course, tennis court, jogging path and nature trail, five-acre water park which includes a water slide, FlowRider wave machine, three pools, and a lazy river. The resort also features Camp Hyatt and family activities so consider making the trip into a vacation for your family.

I cannot write about this property without mentioning the food. There are several restaurants and bars on property to choose from regardless of your appetite. Two particular favorites of mine are Charlie’s Long Bar and Antler’s Lodge. Charlie’s Long Bar is a saloon type bar featuring Texas-style bites while Antler’s Lodge has more of a fine-dining experience with locally-sourced ingredients. Learn more about the several dining options here.

Our team at Go2Learn liked the thought of being centrally located in the country to make it easier for people from the West and East coasts to get to. There is no one location that is best suited for everyone as the community is everywhere. The least we can try to do is make it easy for people from all over the country to travel to. If you will be joining us at the Data in Motion conference, please know reservations are now being accepted at the venue at the discounted conference rate of $199. If you want to extend your stay, you can apply the discounted rate by booking through our dedicated website here. We look forward to engaging with you at this state-of-the-art property and are confident it will set the building blocks for this growing community.
