Recalibrating Your Data Architecture/Governance Strategies for Big Data and IoT
Track: Governance
Jim Dudley, Enterprise Architect, Piedmont Natural Gas

Leading organizations have made great strides in formalizing data governance, but are these programs viewed by business leaders as a strategic instrument for innovation, or simply a necessary tactical measure? Many organizations are not well positioned to realize the maximum benefits from the changing landscape of big data, cognitive computing, and IoT. These organizations must realign their IT strategy, information architecture and data governance disciplines to realize the full potential of their proliferating data assets. This presentation takes an industry and technology agnostic journey into the concepts of recalibration, right-sizing and realignment to build new capabilities that have a meaningful impact on the business model.
