SESSION

In Pursuit of Operational Excellence: Understanding IT/OT Convergence and its Impact on the Enterprise
Track: Digital Transformation
Mark Pyatt, SAP, Senior Director for the Global Oil & Gas Business Unit

To achieve operational excellence, companies need a transformation strategy and an empowered cross-functional team (comprised of IT and OT professionals) to orchestrate change. The plan they execute needs to align with top business priorities fueled by performance milestones that have been difficult to attain.

This presentation will discuss SAP’s digital transformation strategy, our focus on operational excellence and how technology, data, business processes, culture and current enterprise limitations must be considered and rationalized to drive success. By developing an enterprise transformation plan, companies can adjust to dynamic changes occurring in their industry and successfully navigate the hype cycles driven by technology to improve decisions and processes in operations.

As these dynamic changes occur, this approach enables transformation in operations; helping to reduce risk, enable safe work practices, improve visibility and insight, and leverage existing systems to create a foundation for improved decision making at the point of work execution.
