The Parallel Life of Assets
Track: Digital Transformation
Paul Picknell, Picknell Group Inc, President

With technology innovation running rampant in this connected age, it can be easy to lose sight of business needs. Even worse, managers and executives lose control of what really drives business: information.

Information leads to knowledge, and knowledge ultimately drives decisions and actions at all levels of any organization. Asset Management decision making is driven in part by performance measurements that are derived from transactional data through the work management processes.

This workshop ties together data and information for Asset and Work Management requirements. We will discuss how physical asset data and information has a parallel life to that of the asset itself, the various CMMS data types, the relationships of maintenance strategies with work management, and how data is used and why it is critical to establish processes to ensure the technology provides the right information. We’ll look at what we want to measure, the results needed from transactions, and how that aligns with strategy recommendations, all the way back to the asset…aligning the data with each other.
